DIY Slime Bar (without making Slime)
Last year I had an idea for a slime bar at my son’s Pokémon birthday party. It turned out to be a hit and we did it at every party since then. I still have kids and moms asking me about it. In fact my very good friend Angie wants to use it this week for her daughter’s birthday party, which is why I am writing this today.
I use affiliate links in this post and do get commission. I will share what I used to make our slime bar a hit! Each item will have a link and I will add a supply list at the bottom as well.
Clear Slime
I bought this slime from Amazon. It was the best price for a good amount of clear slime that wasn’t 5x times what I had needed. It does come with some small add ins but we will get our own too. Slime: https://amzn.to/43vKFP2

Mica Powder- Safe Colorant
I used this pack of mica powder that came with enough colors to fit every child’s specific request and give me enough for many more parties. You only need the tiniest amount. We had only adults adding a pinch of mica in the beginning to the kids slime. Per its listing “Non-toxic and Safe】 The mica powder pigments dyes are made of high-quality Mica and Titanium Dioxide which is non-toxic, safe, durable, irritant-free.” I will also link a more natural colorant option if you’d like or you can skip the colors and go straight to the add in fake sprinkles and charms. Mix-Ins, Sprinkles, and Resins
Now this is where the real fun comes in. There endless possibilities. I already had many fake sprinkles, fruit slices and character resins from my own craft stash and my craft supply company. I will add quite a few links but you can get creative. I do suggest if you can find sprinkles/clay slices that already come in their own mini container (Like the image right below) rather than 1 container with multiple slots. This way kids can grab 1 type they like and not all be grabbing for one big container that gets spilled and bumped (you will thank me later for that one trust me). If you purchase in bags you can also get some small clear dishes that usually come in 10/$1.25 at the dollar tree or your local dollar store to pour each option into with a spoon. Fruit slices, colored sprinkles and then some bigger resin charms is a good place to start. I also found some assortment packs on Amazon to give a good variety with 1 purchase below too. If you want to get even more there is slime cubes, any glitter, sequins, foam balls, beads or flakes you have at home, dollar store or amazon. Leave a comment below with what you put in and where you got yours from. Click the images below to go to their amazon listing, or see the supply list at the bottom of this post.
Mini Spoons
I suggest buying some mini spoons too. You can usually get some from the dollar store but I added a link as well. Use these to add mica to the slime and I put them out into some of the sprinkle containers so the kids can have a small scoop for their mix ins.

Storage Containers
For the containers to take the slime home you can use many options. I chose a jar that would last longer and I could put a customized label on. I made round labels for the lids to have the theme of the party and a line for each kids name. You can also use small portion cup disposable containers if you don’t want to spend as much on the container itself. I recommend about 4 oz. container. You can go smaller too. Each image below is linked to its amazon listing. I do suggest whatever container you use, pre portion the slime into the container and leave a little room for all the add ins. This way you can give each kid a container already filled with clear slime. I then use bowls I got from the dollar store or you can use disposable bowls to have them dump their clear slime into and then add the mix ins, Then when they are done they can put it back in their container ready to go home. The portion cups and slime containers below in middle and left are also great for storing any of your mix ins that may have came in a bag.
Labels
2 inch round labels can be used to customize your slime. They will work for the screw top jars (above left) or the slime container (above right).

PRO TIPS
if the kids start putting too much in (the more the merrier!) the slime sometimes will get too sticky. I suggest buying some contact saline solution, if you don’t already have some. Just simply squirt a small amount in their bowl if it gets too sticky.
